In that time, Apex Brake & Clutch Ltd has gained a solid reputation throughout New Zealand, not only from the public, but also from the motor industry, as a stainless steel brake resleeving specialist, an automotive cable manufacturer and as the Waikato agent for remachined 5 Star Brand C.V. Joints. An exciting development and area of expansion for the business has been the introduction of CablecraftR, one of the best commercial push pull control cables in the world, which is also used exclusively by leading international manufacturers such as Boeing, Caterpillar, John Deere and General Electric. Apex Brake & Clutch Ltd is the only company in New Zealand to manufacture CablecraftR push pull cables to customer requirements. Because of the diverse nature of the business, the company stock a wide range of mainly brake, clutch and cable components in its retail sales area and Barry says there would not be a more complete ‘brake shop’ found anywhere in New Zealand. ‘Although we are brake and clutch specialists, the experienced professional team of nine staff is available to undertake all types of vehicle and parts repairs and a large part of the business success has been from having the right staff team. Parts Manager Bevan Sutton has become very adept at locating those hard to get parts due to the many unusual items that come over his counter’.
